Choose WPS Service Provider: Choose any one of the WPS Agents (Bank, Exchange House, or Financial Institution) or opt for direct WPS offered by your Bank.
Sign WPS Agreement: Sign the WPS Agreement with your chosen service provider.
Gather Information on Employees: Collect correct information of all employees, including data regarding their Bank Account No and Salary Information.
Generate Salary Information File (SIF): Generate SIF containing employee salary details in the WPS format as specified. This can be generated via the software of the service provider or by your own system if compliant.
Upload of SIF: Upload the generated SIF to your WPS service provider.
Wage Payment Verification: Verify that all employees are paid on time with wages.

MoHRE does not process any transactions or deal with the owners of companies that are not registered at the WPS until they are registered in the system.

Payment can be in United Arab Emirates Dirham, which is the national currency of UAE, or in any other currency if it is agreed upon by both parties in the employment contract.

When should employers pay salaries?

All institutions registered with the Ministry are required to pay the wages of their workers on time. Depending on the system in place, this could be accomplished through the Wages Protection System, or through any other system approved by the Ministry.

The workers must be paid their wages on the first day of the month following the registered payday specified in the Employment Contract. A wage shall be paid at least once per month if no such date is specified therein.
In the case of delayed payment, employers will be considered late if they fail to pay wages to employees within 15 days from the due date, unless otherwise stated in the Employment Contract.
Establishments shall provide and supply all supporting papers to prove the payment of wages.
